Ernest Hemingway is with me. “My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way,” he said. In fact, when challenged to write a complete story in six words, he wrote: “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” Yet, writing succinctly—the art of using as few words as necessary —is a challenging feat for most writers.

The first “for sale” calls to mind a recognizable trope, followed by “baby shoes” a recognizable object, but it is the third element that turns this into a story. “Never worn” can invoke many possible meanings, but perhaps most common is the tragedy of child loss. Those baby shoes were never worn, because the baby wasn’t there to wear them.

It is argued that actions speak louder than words. I completely agree with the statement and believes that words are a mere representation of the action, but incomplete without action. This essay will discuss the potential negative impacts of words spoken in the absence of work, along with supporting arguments followed y a reasonable conclusion.

He took on the challenge and wrote the following story “For sale, baby shoes, never worn”. Apparently he called it his best work. Well if Hemingway can do it then so can CCS students thus there was great excitement throughout the school as students took on the challenge of writing an essay in just six words. The overall standard was very impressive and with a lot of deliberation and some.

Six-Word Story Guidelines. William Faulkner famously said that a novelist is a failed short story writer, and a short story writer is a failed poet. Hemingway, with his creation of the six-word story, combined poetry and drama into a short form that has grown in popularity while remaining difficult to achieve.
